Daring to try – 5 years of Crystal language, com Nicolás Martín di Tada

Crystal is a statically-typed, compiled language, that achieves performance close to c/c++ while having a syntax as readable as Ruby. It was born five years ago, as a challenge to a long-held assumption: that a programming language can either be easy to understand by humans or compile to fast programs. In this talk we’ll focus on the lessons learned over the course of these 5 years and the challenges ahead.

Nicolás Martín di Tada: Nico is the founder of Manas.Tech, the company where Crystal was born. Since 1995, Nico has been designing, developing and managing software projects. He has extensive experience applying technology to scientific domains while using human-centered design, systems thinking and agile methodologies.
